The Truth About Posture"

Sitting all day can be a real pain in the neck—literally! The truth is that looking down at our phones and screens tends to put us in a, well, weird posture—specifically, forward head posture. Sounds odd, feels worse.

To your body, it feels like your head is playing a game of “How far forward can I go without toppling over?” Spoiler: It’s not a fun game.

This techy head tilt is a shortcut to stiffness, aches, and all sorts of “ouch” moments. And if you're one of the many, many, many people who live on their devices, it's especially important to have your next adjustment on the books!

Why It Matters

Think of it this way. Your head weighs about the same as a bowling ball... when you're sitting up straight. As your head tilts forward, that bowling ball gets heavier and heavier and puts more and more strain on your neck—it adds up!

Next Steps

Our go-to quick fix? Stand up, stretch, and move around every half hour. Yes, really! It's like hitting the reset button on that build up of stress, strain, and tension. Make it a daily habit so your body can thank you every day! On top of that, strengthening the trapezius muscles that span your neck, shoulders, and back and getting adjusted are two other game-changing ways you can combat "Tech Neck" and make those “ouch” moments a thing of the past. Don't forget to make time for your self-care. Be sure to have your next appointment scheduled and to favorite our social channels for more!
